    The Post-It Workout

It’s easy enough to tell yourself that you can get a good, quick workout in at home. There are so many exercises you can do while you watch tv! Just do wall sits during commercials. Just do jumping jacks while the show is on. So easy! Who needs a gym? Except then Grey’s Anatomy starts, you do a few half-hearted lunges, then end up laying on the floor for the rest of the show under the guise of “doing crunches.”

I need a little organization in my workouts. I need some numbers, some quantities. Jillian Michaels DVDs work for me because there is a lady in my face telling me when to squat and when to lunge and when to curl and when to stop.

The post-it workout is a collection of exercises to target different parts of the body (I actually used all those “Build a Better Butt” and “8 Arm Exercises for Women” workouts that I bookmark and then never look at again!) that are easy to mix and match. Pick one post-it of each color, and repeat the circuit 3x.

Really it’s just a simplified way to get in a full-body workout during an episode of New Girl. Pink post-its are for arms (biceps/chest), light green is legs (quads), purple is abs, yellow is arms (triceps/back), orange is legs (inner/outer thigh muscles), blue is an arms/abs combo, and bright green is for glutes. 7 types of exercises, 3 choices for each, a total of 2187 different workout combinations. I did this for the first time the other day- it took about 20 minutes and felt great!

Just steal some post-its from work, google your favorite workouts that involve no equipment/equipment that you have, and you can make your own mix-and-match post it workout.

(if you are wondering what all my my exercises are, some are just made-up names for things I’ve done at bootcamp, and a lot of them come from Women’s Health online articles, and a few from exerciseTV.)
